Tweede nag van a-MA-zing race in 'n tronksel

Slowenie is volgende op ons lys. As verrassing vir Kia het ek ons akkommodasie in Hostel Celica * in Ljubljana bespreek.  Om meer presies te wees, sel 117 waar twee skrywers eens op 'n tyd aangehou is (name verskyn op seldeur).

                As gevolg van my val in Zagreb, het Kia besluit dat dit te riskant sal wees om die trappe
                           na my selbed te klim en 'n matrasbed vir my seer lyf op die selvloer te maak

      Ljubljana, die hoofstad van Slowenie is vir my een van die knusste stadjies wat ek nog ooit besoek het. Was 3 jaar gelede daar saam met toergroep en wou graag vir Kia 'n glimps laat kry het van die stad en land. ...

We are proud of our 20 former prison cells. Over 80 artists paricipated in their creative renewal and today each cell is completely unique and a priceless work of art.

Hostel Celica is located in the old military prison building in Metelkova area in Ljubljana. It was originally built in the Austro – Hungarian times at the end of the 19th century (1882). The building functioned as a military prison for over 100 years until 1991 when Slovenia achieved its independence after separating from the former socialist federation of Yugoslavia.

The project joined the city authorities and the Student Organization of Ljubljana who stepped together with the Metelkova artistic movement.The renovation included 80 artists from all over the world who worked passionately to welcome the first guests in July 2003.

The official colours on the Celica facade represent the colours of the horizon: red – (oxidation, corrosion and the soil) & violet – (the sunset and the sky).

Ground floor area

Hostel Celica hosts its own artistic gallery on the ground floor – right next to the main entrance. The space is opened to art, science and any form of expression. The silhouette on the door reflects two lovers wrapped into each others arms and were designed by the author Žiga Okorn. The lights inside the gallery represent the Great Bear constellation.

                                die " a-Ma-zing race" stede betaal het nie, kon ons elke aand "uiteet".

                             want daar was nie plek vir nog 'n muisjas in   ons klein rugsakkies nie

                                             Grafitti en openbare kunswerke is "groot" in Ljubljana.
